The Problem


Prior to Mustard, Zenith worked on SEO, SEM & Meta campaigns with another agency but eventually switched out due to stagnating results.

Their previous campaigns were broad, unstructured and failed to account for differences in student intent across subjects, levels and exam seasons.

Moreover, the website looked boring for users and wasn't optimised for conversions.

With the critical back-to-school period approaching, Zenith wanted a partner that could help them execute a more strategic, data-driven approach that could deliver measurable improvements; not just a bunch of keyword rankings.

Our Approach


Using a structured, data-led framework designed specifically for education companies, we did the following:

  1. Refreshed ad platforms: Our strategists started by cleaning up each campaign: turning off losing ads and identifying the winning ones. This also included rebuilding the various campaign structures. E.g. Separate campaigns for school levels, individual subjects and general tuition keywords to improve relevance and lower costs.
  2. Refocused SEO on 'money' pages: Identified and focused on high-value pages for the best keyword and deleted/merged pages that had zero value. This included re-writing content (3,000 words+), building internal & external links, and fixing technical SEO issues.
  3. Created useful high-traffic pages: Users within the student journey were searching for tools like calculators, formula sheets and school application criteria. By using our proprietary "Golden Outlines" formula, we created content that actually drove free trials.
  4. Dominated Google Maps: Ranking in the top 3 on Google Maps is key for any local tuition centre. Using key insights from over 5 years of student data, we optimised Zenith's Google Business Profile across 11 centres islandwide.
